Norway is one of Europe's great road trip countries. The fjords of the west coast, the peaks of Lofoten, the Arctic light of the far north and cities like Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim are all linked by well-kept roads, tunnels and ferries. With a motorhome or campervan your bed, kitchen and luggage travel with you, so you can stay longer where you like it and move on when the weather changes.
With Motorhome Norway you can rent both: spacious motorhomes with bathroom and heating for families and longer trips, and compact campervans that are easy to drive and park. Tell us your dates and pick-up location and we'll show you what is available, with the price for your whole rental.
When you search, you choose where to collect and where to return your vehicle. If your route is one-way, look for a return at a different location: the results show the vehicles that allow it for your dates.
Pick-up and return times depend on the vehicle, because each one is cleaned and checked before it goes out again. You select them from the available times during booking.
Before your trip you'll receive the address and directions to the pick-up point. On the day, bring your passport or ID, your driving licence and a credit card, sign the rental agreement and you are ready to go.
From Bergen you are at the gateway to the western fjords: Sognefjord, the longest in Norway, and the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord and Geirangerfjord. From Oslo, the classic routes head west over the mountains towards the fjords or south along the coast.
Trondheim sits in the middle of the country, a natural starting point for the Atlantic Road and the coastal route north. Bodø, Lofoten and Tromsø put you straight into Arctic Norway: the Lofoten Islands, Vesterålen, Senja, the Lyngen Alps and, in the dark months, the northern lights.
Along the way, look out for the 18 Norwegian Scenic Routes: stretches of road chosen for their landscapes, with viewpoints and rest areas that are worth the detour.

About Us
Driving in Norway is relaxed if you take your time. The general speed limit is 80 km/h outside built-up areas and 50 km/h in towns, dipped headlights are mandatory at all hours, and distances take longer than the map suggests: roads are winding, often narrow, and the views invite you to stop. Plan shorter driving days than you would at home.
Most toll roads are paid automatically: cameras read the number plate as you pass (the AutoPASS system) and there is no need to stop. Ferries are part of the road network in the fjords and along the coast, and motorhomes are charged by length. Ask at pick-up how tolls and ferry crossings are billed for your vehicle.
In winter, conditions change quickly and some mountain passes close for the season. Vehicles need tyres suited to snow and ice, and only some models are available in the winter months. Whatever the season, check the weather and road reports, and watch for sheep, reindeer and moose on the road.
Every vehicle page lists what is included in the rental price, so you can compare like for like. Fuel, tolls, ferries, campsite fees and fines are not part of the rental.
During booking you can lower your excess with additional insurance and add extras such as bed linen or a camping table and chairs. A security deposit is held on a credit card when you pick up the vehicle.
